How to use Hashtags! #dosanddonts

#HASHTAGS

What are they all about?! What is their purpose? Despite being added to the Oxford Dictionary back in 2010 as most people have come to know what they are, many people still don't understand how to use them.

Hashtags once just a key on your phone, are now featured on most popular social network sites including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Google + and Pinterest.

Hashtags allow you to categorise your content on social media.  With hashtags your own posts are able to be discovered easily, and likewise you can find content of others easily.  It also allows you to engage with like-minded users based on common interests. Knowing how to use hashtags is fundamental to your success on social media.

If you are unsure how to use then here are some hints and tips by Social Network to work by...

Twitter

Hashtags here are used to describe the topic of conversation, an area (city, country etc), a common ground. Check on what is trending as you can use to your advantage to gain maximum exposure, but make sure it is relevant! Here is Twitter's guide to using hashtags and best practice.

Instagram

Hashtags on Instagram are much more about the picture, the person and how the image was produced.  However there are also popular hashtags that can help gain new followers, again use where relevant.

Hashtags on these sites tend to be used less but are just as relevant and searchable if used correctly, here are the best practices for Facebook, Pinterest and Google +

There are also some specific rules you should always follow:

  • Do try to be specific (For example #GucciShoes instead of just #Shoes
  • Do make relevant to the social media site you are using.
  • Do use relevant, unbranded hashtags (For Example #1T1F1J or # generationyoung is more descriptive than just #Jeunesse)
  • Don't go too long - Keep it short and sweet!
  • Don't hashtag for the sake of it - Not every post or sentence needs a hashtag.
  • Don't have more hashtags than words - Well except on Instagram #exception #rule
Hashtags allow you to make an impression on a wide social media audience.  Make sure you share great content and make a great impression!

Happy #hashtags!

My Famous Five

Okay so you've started your network marketing business, it starts off well and business is good, but then all of a sudden...

NOTHING...

Your leads start to slow down, your posts are reaching all the same people, comments are few and far between, are you being ignored?

Many people start in Network Marketing because the are told "it's easy", you can "work a couple of hours a week and earn $$$$$", "work part time hours, for full time money".  Now how many other jobs do you know that you can be hired with no experience or qualifications and immediately earn thousands, working only a couple of hours a week?  EXACTLY!

So how do you take your business to the next level? This business is like any other, if you aren't prepared to listen, learn and put in a bit of hard work initially then you will never reach that six figure income.  However if you are prepared to work hard and take on some well structured coaching, then the SIX FIGURE INCOME, the TRAVEL and the LIFESTYLE can be yours!

There are some great coaches out there, however initially I suggest the following:

1. Speak to your sponsor to see what is available to your team, use the resources available to you for FREE as much as you can!

2. Speak to your team, look to up-line team members who are in a position you'd like to be in and ask them for advice.  Ask if they have/had a mentor or coach, then search that coach out on social media as they'll usually have some FREE advice initially which will help you decide if their style is right for you!

3.  Use social media to search out network marketing coaches and start following them, as I said above you'll get snippets/posts of advice for FREE and it will allow you to see who appeals to you most and who's popular/established within the business.

I would recommend these guys as a great starting point:

I have personally worked with Sonia and find her approach fresh and especially effective for women! Not pushy or salesy, just clever and classy!

Ray Higdon
Ray offers so much, his approaches are simple yet highly effective.  His blog gives you great tips to work on daily and share with your team as it grows.

Max's webinars on how to use social media to attract and meet new prospects are invaluable, especially if you are a little new to social media.

His approach might sometimes surprise you, but it works and he wants nothing more than to help you succeed in your business.

This gal is awesome! Says it like it is and speaks a lot of sense. Her regular posts really make you think and question everything you may have believed or been told about network marketing and the industry.

Remember the most important thing is to be open to learning, we should never stop learning!  There is plenty of advice out there for FREE, but if you really want to achieve great success then once you've found a coach you like I would highly recommend paying (doesn't have to be a lot to start with) to work with them and learn as much as you can.  Chosen wisely your coach will enable you to free yourself from any self imposed limits that have been holding you back, show you where you have possibly been going wrong and allow you to soar and become the person you've have always dreamed of being.

So why not take that step today, take control of your destiny and become who you were destined to be!

Let me know how you get on! Has a coach made a big difference in your business? Who is your favourite coach? Would love to hear your comments below.
